Company Info

Destiny Dance Institute Companies were established to provide young people with the highest quality in dance education by exposing them to experienced faculty, master  teachers and choreographers, as well as a broad array of performance opportunities. Company membership is by audition only and is preparation for professional or college level companies.  Students reap many rewards dedicating themselves to this level of training.

Destiny Dance Institute Ballet Company

Destiny Dance Institute Ballet Company is the performing ensemble for the Pre-Professional Ballet Division of DDI, and is dedicated to fostering a love and appreciation for the art of dance through the vocabulary of classical ballet.  We are committed to exposing young dance artists to the pursuit of artistic excellence in a vibrant and nurturing environment. In collaborating with local dance, scenic and costume artists we are able to provide a performing experience that is truly indicative of the professional world of dance.

DDIBC currently participates in 2 formal performances each year. Acts 2 and 3 of the Nutcracker have become a yearly tradition and highlight for our dancers: with our youngest making their debut as Angels, while our most accomplished dancers show their skill in roles such as Snow Queen, Arabian or Sugar Plum. Our spring concerts vary from classical to contemporary repertoire, drawing upon our dancers’ unequaled versatility in multiple dance forms.

In addition to our two main performances yearly, our dancers participate in many small community performances; sharing their love of dance with young and old alike. Each summer, we are pleased to host the DDI Summer Ballet Intensive in which our company dancers have the opportunity to study with world-renowned ballet instructors. We welcome young students with a special passion for and dedication to the art of ballet.

Jazz/Contemporary Company

Destiny Dance Institute Jazz/Contemporary Company is for the more serious dancer looking to train at a faster pace. The company is broken into 5 levels based on age, vocabulary, and ability. All levels train 3 days a week. Their curriculum consists of all styles of jazz and contemporary and at least one ballet class.

The Jazz Company has many opportunities to perform throughout the year. In addition to performing in two major productions, they also participate in one to two competitions and are featured in all of our recreational recitals. DDI’s Jazz Company is not a competition team. Instead of learning one dance to rehearse all year and spending lots of money at competitions, our dancers enjoy learning new material throughout the year to perform at various places. They perform in several holiday shows in December as well as in many small community performances.

In January, the Company attends the Showstoppers dance convention where our students gain inspiration, motivation and encouragement as well as camaraderie amongst each other. In addition to these opportunities, each summer, we are pleased to host the DDI Summer Jazz Intensive in which our dancers have the opportunity to study with guest, master instructors.
