Company News:
Our Sr. and Jr. Company will be competing on Sunday, March 28 at Johnston County Community College. The times will be posted soon. Come out and support our dancers and show your Destiny Dance Institute spirit!

Check our spelling:
In the next few weeks we will be posting two lists of the dancers’ names. One list will be used for the recital programs and the other list will be used for our recital shirts. Please verify that your dancer’s name is spelled correctly by writing your initials beside their name. If their name is incorrect please notify the front desk to have all changes made.

Costumes are arriving!
As the costumes arrive, teachers will have the classes try them on and practice in them that day. Parents are asked to stay and help the younger ones dress and undress. Information regarding sewing instructions or adjustments will be given, and decisions on exchanges will be made then.

***Please note:
Costumes sizes are based on measurements taken and charts of each costume company. DDI cannot guarantee that every costume will fit perfectly. We do our best and spend many hours working on costume selections and sizes. Occasionally a different size is preferred and an exchange can be made for a small fee. Parents will be responsible to pay any extra cost for alterations or exchanges. Please make all necessary adjustments before picture day. Please do not let students play in costumes before the recital. We want everyone to look their best and feel beautiful in their costumes!

Picture Dates: May 17, 18, 19
DDI is happy to announce that Picture This Dance will be our new photographers this year. The schedule will be posted soon. Individuals will be scheduled around your class group time.

Summer Schedule:
Dance is not a winter sport. In fact, summer is a great time for dance training; muscles respond better due to warm weather and students are not as bogged down mentally with a heavy school load.  Our summer schedule will be out March 5th.  Teachers will be giving evaluations and recommendations for each student.  In order for the dancer to make the maximum progress in flexibility, muscle memory, strengthening, technique, dance vocabulary, etc. the training must be continual.  (It’s also a great time to try a new style without committing for the whole year.)

We understand many will be taking a break in the summer, and vacations are necessary, but Long breaks such as 6-10 weeks only produce mental and physical setbacks.  We encourage our dancers to register for the weeks they will be in town; prorated summer tuition is allowed to accommodate vacations.  Don’t get behind, leap forward this summer!

Production Fee will be drafted on March 15. Each family’s fee will be $40.00.
