Calling All Moms In order to keep our children safe and secure and avoid crowding the dressing rooms during our show, we allow/need 1-2 parent volunteers per class (based on class size & age) to help with costume and shoe changes, bathroom breaks, etc. We will have a formal check-in/check-out for all students.  Many of our parent volunteers have been helping in the dressing rooms for several years and are very familiar with the process. Again, this is not to alienate anyone, rather only to ensure the safety of everyone. Please sign up at the front desk if you would like to volunteer. We need moms for all shows. NO DADS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE DRESSING AREAS. Anyone who signs up to help must work the dress rehearsal so that you will know what to do during the show.  You will be able to watch them dance from backstage, but will not be able to go out in the audience.

Check our spelling! Dancers’ names are on a list in the hallway of the studio until May 5th. Please initial beside your dancer’s name if it is correct. If it is not, please let the front desk know immediately. These lists will be used for our recital programs and t-shirts.

Attendance… Parents please make every effort to bring your dancer to class; there aren’t many weeks left before our big performance! It is difficult for the whole class to perfect their dance when someone is missing. Make ups will not be allowed in a performing class after May 15. Private lessons may be required due to excessive absences and falling behind.

Picture Days:  June 2 & 3 The schedule is now posted.  The order form is located in your recital packet. Please be aware that no credit or debit cards will be accepted.

Tickets: Each family will receive 2 free tickets and may purchase more as needed. Tickets go on sale May 1^st. Cost is $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for students;  children 2 and under are free if they sit in someone’s lap. Ticket purchases are cash or check only and are sold on a first come first serve basis and may sell out!

Did You Receive a Recital Packet? If not, stop by the desk and get one!  Please take the time to READ IT ENTIRELY!  The most frequently asked questions are addressed in the packet. Information on flowers, program dedications, dvd orders, pictures are also included inside.

Dance Gift Boxes from Palsie’s Popcorn and Sweets may be ordered for your dancer to enjoy on recital day!  See display in the lobby and pick up your order form.

Advertise With DDI in our 2012 Recital Program. If you have a business and a child that dances at DDI, we are offering discounted rates to advertise at our big event!  Forms are in the lobby.

SUMMER SCHEDULE: Dance is not a winter sport. In fact, summer is an important time for dance training; muscles respond better due to warm weather and students are not as bogged down with a heavy school load. In order for a dancer to make the maximum progress in flexibility, muscle memory, strengthening, technique, etc., the training must be continual. (It’s also a great time to try a new style without committing for the whole year.) Our summer schedule is now out! Current students may register through the customer portal. If you do not see a class that you are looking for, please let us know. We are adding classes as needed. Don’t wait to register, the class may fill up! Several classes are already half full.

Company Auditions: If you are interested in becoming a DDI Company dancer, sign up at the front desk to receive a program information packet. Company dancers train in our pre-professional track that involves multiple classes in the chosen genre. Company dancers are NOT by invitation only. Any dancer with the passion and desire to train more intensely will be considered for the pre-professional program. Dancers must be at least 7 years old and already have taken classes in the style of which they would like to be considered for or are auditioning for. NOTE: SUMMER TRAINING IS REQUIRED.  Nutcracker rehearsals begin in July!  The audition schedule is posted on the DDI website and on the studio bulletin board.
